BromWiki:Interlanguage links
Bromwiki is bilingual, beside of this english version, there are also a german one.
Although they are operating with three independent databases, it is possible to link them all by so called Interlanguage links or Interwikis.
If you would like to read, for instance, the article about Tillandsia usneoides in german (maybe it has more informations then the english one), than just click in the lefthand menu, below "other languages" on Deutsch.
If this field is not displayed, Interwikis havn't been added yet.
Syntax
The interlanguage-links take the following form:
[[language code:Title]]
where the language code is the 2-letter code. English is "en", German is "de".
Add an Interwiki
Example:To link the english article of Tillandsia usneoides with the german one, first you need both articlenames (Articles about plants usually have the same name, others mostly not).
Than:
- Open the english article and scroll down to the very end, behind the Category link.
- Add
[[de:Tillandsia usneoides]]. - Press the "Show preview" button and see, if "other languages: Deutsch" is displayed in the menu.
- Click that "Deutsch"-Link and see if it hits the right article.
- If it did, press the "Back"-button of your browser to go back into the preview.
- Now add under Edit summary the word interwiki, so that later the Specialpage Recent changes shows what you did.
- Save the article, and you are done!
A link inside of the article (Inline-Link) is a bit different:
[[:de:Tillandsia usneoides|Tillandsia usneoides]] and it looks like this: Tillandsia usneoides.

In the long run we want to link as much articles inside of both Bromwikis as possible.
The plant articles should allways bear the same name in each Bromwiki, the latin one.
Example: The article about Tillandsia usneoides should end with these interwikis:
[[de:Tillandsia usneoides]]
In these cases one might also use the Variable {{PAGENAME}}. It add automaticaly the name of the page into the interwiki-link, so its noch necessary to type it.:
[[de:{{PAGENAME}}]]
