Family

The family (lat.: familia) is a taxonomic rank in botanical systematics.
It fitts between the main ranks order and genus and can be splitted into several subfamilies (lat.: subfamilia).
The name of each family generally ends with the suffix -aceae (in case of this wiki: the bromeliads: Bromeliaceae) and is based on a defined type species (in case of this wiki:Bromelia)
